New Earth School PDX
The Full Story
About New Earth School PDX
New Earth School PDX exists in response to a real and growing need: people want to learn practical skills, share what they know, and connect in ways that feel alive, human, and relevant to the world we’re actually living in.
As the New Earth emerges through decentralization, creative economies, and community-led solutions, education is shifting too. We are moving away from hierarchy and gatekeeping, and toward skillshare, lived experience, and collective intelligence.
New Earth School PDX is a weekly skillshare hub where people gather to teach, learn, and exchange knowledge directly with one another. There are no credentials required, no “expert culture,” and no rigid structures. Everyone is both a student and a teacher, depending on the moment.
It’s a space, not an institution. A living learning ecosystem shaped by the people who show up.
Now in its third year, New Earth School PDX is directed by Fern Capella Allen and stewarded by the wider community. This is an ongoing experiment in how we learn, share, and grow in the New Earth.

Mission
New Earth School PDX exists to cultivate community led learning through skillsharing, connection, and radical trust, empowering people to teach what they know, learn what they need, and grow together outside of hierarchical systems.

Vision
We envision a world where education is decentralized, accessible, and rooted in collective intelligence, where communities circulate knowledge freely, everyone is recognized as a bearer of wisdom, and learning is woven back into everyday life
